OOPS!!!! Just deleted Some members from SharePoint Members group. Is their any way to revert them back? I dont remember who were there nor i am having their name list.
Suggestions:
- Use Axceler control point. It backs up the permissions often before deletion.
- If all the audit settings where activated on the site collection, you could run a Security Settings report. It should list the people that were deleted by you and when. Go to Site Settings - Site Collection Audit Settings. See if the tick box is checked for Editing Users and Permissions. If so, you can run the report. If not, you'll need the log files checked.
- Why not just play open cards? Email your whole team / department and tell them what happened and ask them to tell you who had access so you can add them again. Accidents happen. :-)
- What about asking your admin about the log files - it should show the names that were deleted if you look through there.
- You can backup the content database to new database and then you can do the "Recover data from an unattached content database". This way you can look and see who had access to what then manually fix it. It's a manual process but at least you will be able to see what you deleted.
